Stealing wifi - is it wrong?

The only reason I am writing this blog post, is that I am on stolen wifi and it is too unreliable to provide constant amusement.
I guess there is a lesson to be learned here but by the time I think about it the internet will probably be back up.
As a scientist I would really like to understand this phenomenon of the shifting wifi reception, in abscence of any perceptible change in the position of the transmitting antenna, recieving antenna and intervening walls/furniture.
The only thing that comes to kind is that for some strange reason they have a radiation shield inside their apartment, and for some even stranger reason they are randomly moving it around.
I guess the answer to the title is: even if it is, it's not worth it.

Irony: I couldn't post this from the stolen wifi so I turned on my phone's hotspot to do it. So much for honest journalism.
